The Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity

St. Alphonsus Parish is proud to be home to the only SOLT community in the Northwest.

Following a lengthy petition process by St. Alphonsus parishioners, our parish was entrusted to the priestly care of the Society of Our Lady by the Archbishop of Seattle in 2007.  Since that time the Society has assigned priests to serve the local Seattle area out of our parish rectory. The excellent relationship between the Archdiocese and the SOLT community has also afforded the assignment of dozens of SOLT sisters and novices to the convent located on St. Alphonsus parish grounds.  Inevitably the convent has become an integral part of the novitiate formation of SOLT novices on their journey to make perpetual vows. During their novitiate year you will often see the SOLT sisters at Masses, assisting in parish school classrooms, and taking an active role in serving the local Catholic community.

"We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us”. We have come to believe in God's love: in these words the Christian can express the fundamental decision of his life. Being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction.  - Pope Benedict XVI
