Discerning a Vocation to the Priesthood or Religious Life?
Is Jesus asking you to help make His presence visible in a world
desperately in need of faith, hope, and love? Are you having thoughts
and feelings about becoming a priest, brother or sister? Nothing is more
important than discovering and living God’s will, prayerfully consider this important vocation. Or to get more info and guidance follow the link below. USCCB Website for Vocations
Are you considering a call to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Seattle? If so, you are invited to attend Priesthood Discernment Nights available throughout the Archdiocese. These evenings are open to all men discerning this important call.
They provide an opportunity for prayer, a presentation, discussion and social time.
Presentations will cover a broad range of subjects helpful to men discerning a call
to the ordained life. Priests of the archdiocese are always welcome and encouraged to accompany
any prospective candidates they may have from their parishes. Archdiocese of Seattle Discernment Night God Gives it All and then Calls Us to Share: Stewardship
Everything we have and everything we are is a gift from God. Stewardship is the ability to share our gifts of life, time, talent, and treasure with others – with no strings attached and no conditions. We share these gifts out of our love for God and gratitude to Him. “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Mat 6:23) On October 29/30 St. Alphonsus kicked off our Stewardship Drive with Stewardship of Talent. Sister Miriam gave an inspirational talk during Mass to get everyone ready for the Talent Fair on Sunday (see picture on left). She invited parishioners to return the talent cards to indicate what ministries they are involved in as well as ones they would like to be involved in. These can be returned to the parish office or in the Sunday collection.
In November we begin Stewardship of Treasure. We ask parishioners to make a financial commitment to the parish for 2012 by filling out a commitment card which will be mailed out the second week of November. Like the talent cards, these can be returned to the parish office or in the Sunday collection.
We ask parishioners to prayerfully and thoughtfully consider what they are willing to contribute to the parish both financially and temporally. Take a step towards accomplishing the design God has for you, our parish, and the greater Catholic Church. Additional cards are available in the church vestibules and/or pews as well as the parish office.
Please contact Lizzy at the parish office with any questions: st.alphonsus.parish@gmail.com or 206-784-6464.

Eucharistic Adoration
Our Eucharistic Adoration Chapel is open on Tuesdays and
Fridays from 9:00am to 9:00pm
The St. Alphonsus Adoration Chapel is a great spiritual treasure for the Parish. It
is a requirement of the Seattle Archdiocese that two adorers be present
during all hours of Adoration. If we cannot have two committed adorers
present at all times we will be unable to continue to offer this form
of live-giving prayer.
We invite Eucharistic Adorers to
sign up for an hour of Adoration. To date, we only have enough adorers
to open the Chapel Tuesdays and Fridays and we still need more adorers for these specific times on those days:
Tuesdays: 12-1pm, 2-3pm, 5-6pm
Fridays: 10-11am, 12-1pm, 1-2pm, 3-4pm, 6-7pm

"We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us”. We have come to believe in God's love: in these words the Christian can express the fundamental decision of his life. Being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction. - Pope Benedict XVI
